Twelve students from high schools in Northeast Tennessee participated in the National Career Technical Education Letter of Intent Signing Day event held at TCAT Elizabethton, recently.
The signees, pictured with their instructor, are listed by high school and desired training program:
Elizabethton High School: Casey Hayes, Automotive; Brad Dills, Pipefitting; Kaleb Whitehead, HVAC; Zachary Buckles, Welding;
Davy Crockett High School: Jeremiah Clark and Preston Tilson, Welding; Kasey Hensley, Practical Nursing; Thomas Gillin, Diesel;
Daniel Boone High School--Fidel Breto, and Chris McCall, Diesel; Joseph Johnson, Automotive;
Tennessee High School--Bryan Henley, HVAC.
Fifteen technical institutions across the United States, including seven of the 27 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology, participated in the NC3-sponsored event on Feb. 18.

Carter County Mayor Leon Humphrey, keynote speaker, congratulated TCAT Elizabethton for providing a quality job training program since 1963 when the vocational training school was established at 1500 Arney Street in Elizabethton.
In the 12-month period ending August 31, 2015, TCAT Elizabethton had a 92 percent program completion rate, 89 percent job placement rate and 96 percent licensure pass rate on the Tennessee Board of Nursing exam.
