TCAT Elizabethton will continue its hybrid instruction beginning in the spring trimester, Jan. 4, 2021, President Dean Blevins announced today. Originally, TCAT Elizabethton was to start back in-person in a traditional instruction mode.  

“However, with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the Northeast Tennessee region and also with Gov.  Bill Lee’s recent guidance that includes a strong recommendation to work from home if possible, I have decided to continue our “Hybrid” instruction delivery mode we were in at the end of the Fall 2020 trimester,” Blevins said.  

Blevins advised faculty to use on-line instruction as much as possible with limited in-person activities on campus. If you need to have in-person instructional sessions you must: 

• Maintain small groups of 10 or fewer including instructor (unless preapproved by the administration) 
• Use the health screening questionnaire 
• Use CDC safety guidelines (social distancing, face coverings required, etc.) 

“If you need to meet in-person with your new students, make sure you follow the requirements stated above, most of you should have fewer than ten (10) new students for the trimester, with the exception of nursing.”  

Blevins said office staff will need to follow the work schedule in use at the end of last trimester to limit the number of people on campus. 

New students should first apply for admission at www.tcatelizabethton.edu. Select their desired program and follow instructions. New students will be notified about orientation via their personal identification email address they will receive when they apply for admission, Blevins said.
