3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file, said John Lee, who brought the 3D printer technology to TCAT Elizabethton.

TCAT Elizabethton will begin to issue NC3 certification in 3D printing in Machine Tool Technology, Millwright/Industrial Maintenance and Computer Information Technology training programs on Jan. 4, 2017.

The 3D printer training at TCAT Elizabethton was made possible through a partnership established with Dremel, and Grainger. What does Lee plan next at TCAT Elizabethton.  “Building a virtual automobile,” Lee said.
