The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton is a leader in Tennessee in developing training partnerships and issuing industry certifications. More than 15 training partnerships have already been established, according to College President Dean Blevins.

“We met our industry certification goals in 2018 and have expanded our partnerships to take our campus to another level in 2019,” Blevins said.

Melody Bailey of Greenbrier has been named coordinator of NC3 certifications at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton, Blevins announced today.

In her new role, Bailey will build certification classes to support certifications chosen for each of 12 training programs at TCAT Elizabethton. The certifications will align with the warranty program that has been implemented at TCAT Elizabethton.

According to Blevins, the warranty program allows TCAT Elizabethton to stand behind the quality training students receive in our programs. “It tells students and employers that the college places a guarantee on our training that will ensure student graduates have the necessary skills to compete for jobs and perform at the highest expected level on the job,” Blevins said.

Bailey joined TCAT Elizabethton in June of 2018. A 2006 graduate of Nashville Auto-Diesel College and 2005 Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan, Bailey holds numerous certifications, including ASE Master Technician certification.

Among work experiences prior to joining TCAT Elizabethton, Bailey served as automotive instructor at TCAT Nashville, field service coordinator for Thompson Caterpillar in La Vergne, telematics validation engineer at Delphi Automotive in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and Diagnostic Engineer with Snap-on Tools in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

She received the Breaking Transition Award from Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm on behalf of the Michigan Department of Education for pursuing a non-traditional career for her gender.

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton is one of six NC3 regional training centers in the U.S. Bailey joins John Lee, NC3 coordinator at TCAT Elizabethton providing training, testing and awarding of NC3 Certifications in a variety of subjects to students on campus, as well as to existing employees in business and industry and prospective employees.
